After getting his MBA degree from NMIMS, Raj Shah Joined Reliance as a senior associate. He noticed that almost all of his senior colleagues had various health issues like Diabetes, Blood Pressure, high cholesterol, etc. Having an entrepreneurial zeal, he thought that something must be done about these rising health issues. So he quit his job to bootstrap his start-up COSMO (Collaborative Social and Smart Movement). His main objective is to stimulate healthy food habits in the general population while providing employment in the rural sector at the same time. “There are so many amazing products in rural areas. But the farmers lacked the necessary knowledge to scale the market of these products. They did not know about Six Sigma, quality management, ISO, barcoding, or packaging. So there was a need for some hand-holding to bridge the gap which can help scale these traditional products to international markets,” says Raj. This startup wants to change the way kids are taught coding in India

Edtech space is booming in India with the likes of Byju’s and Unacademy leading the troops. Government’s new education policy has made it mandatory for schools to teach kids coding. We talked to Kushal Trivedi, the founder of PreBOO, to gain some insights on what is actually happening on the ground. PreBOO is a web platform where kids are introduced to the world of programming via games, lessons, puzzles, and much more. The company started in 2016, as a mobile app for communication between schools and families. Now they are developing a coding platform where kids can be introduced to the concepts of basic coding through using visual code blocks that represent real programming concepts.

Leave me alone: Period leave policy swings the mood of women for better

  Zomato’s new paid period leave policy has got everyone talking. But it is not a “new” policy in India in any sense, the state of Bihar has been giving period leaves to government employees since 1992. A company called Culture Machine implemented this policy in 2017, after that many companies followed suit. And even Culture Machine might not be the first Indian company to have implemented it, as many start-ups have been following similar practices without any formal policy, way before all these so-called “pioneers”. We talked to some students and professionals regarding their views. While most of them championed the policy, there was also some criticism. For me, that teacher was our social science teacher in class 6th, her name was Nidhi ma'am. Being "Cool" is not enough

        How many times have you read this quote? -“Back-benchers become entreprenuers, and then they hire the first-benchers”. This is the most inaccurate description of the Reality.               Coming late to class, bunking, becoming a murga, making fun of teachers… is it funny? Hell yes!! And, maybe even ‘cool’. But you know what is even cooler? –Earning 2.28 MILLION rupees per annum- that’s the median salary of the IIMA students in 2018. Cool enough, eh? And, you know what? Many of them do become entrepreneurs, and they will never hire you. Sorry, they will never be sorry.               It doesn’t matter if you are a back-bencher in a class, become a first bencher at whatever you love. Sachin Tendulkar has failed grade 10th board exams thrice. but, he was the first bencher in the field of cricket.
